Index Of Sociologists There have  been many influential sociologists who have contributed to the development of sociological thought. Adam  Smith Adam Smith is the  Father of Economics and also the Father of  Capitalism . Adam  Smith wrote the classic works, The Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759) and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (1776). Both the books are considered earliest modern works of economics. Adam Smith introduced his theory of absolute advantage.
